Quinsam Salmon Hatchery- Located just off Highway 28 Observe juvenile salmon all year, or returning salmon from mid-August to mid-November. This self guided tour is open to visitors seven days a week from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. A number of facilities are available including the display room containing information on the life cycle of salmon and the hatchery techniques. Catalyst Pulp & Paper Mill Tours- Located approximately 10 minutes North of Campbell River on Highway 19 The tour centre is open June through August, Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, except during tour hours. Tours run Monday to Friday at 10 am and 1 pm. This walking tour is approximately 2 hours in duration. Visitors MUST wear good walking shoes - no open-toe, clogs, sandals or high heels permitted. Haig-Brown Heritage Property- Located on Highway 28 5 minutes North of downtown Campbell River The Haig-Brown House and Property commemorates the late Roderick and Ann Haig-Brown and their philosophies of environmental stewardship and social responsibility. Located on the banks of the Campbell River, the property consists of 2.5 acres of formal gardens, orchards and trails surrounded by 18 acres of woods, steams and wetlands. Visitors are welcome to explore well-kept walking trails furnished with benches, bridges and picnic tables. Group tours of the house and property can be booked through the Campbell River Museum.
