
Skiing, Snowboarding & Snowshoeing at Mount Washington Ski Resort or Mount Cain!
Only 30 minutes from Campbell River, Mount Washington offers a variety of terrain for skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels. During the winter Mount Washington Alpine Resort boasts the deepest all natural snow base in Canada. Skiers and snowboarders currently have 1,600 acres of terrain to choose from (20% easier, 35% intermediate, 45% expert) including 400 new acres of advanced terrain on the backside of Mount Washington. The slopes are serviced by 8 lifts including Canada's first double offload quad accessing the Outback, a high speed six pack lift and a high speed quad.
The Cross Country area offers 55 km (33 miles) of track set and skate groomed trails partially located within Strathcona Park. There is even lift service for parts of the Nordic trails. Snowshoe enthusiasts will enjoy the 20 km (12 miles) of trails ranging from gentle slopes to rolling hills. There is also a 300 m natural luge track located at the Raven Lodge. Situated on the north end of Vancouver Island, Mount Cain offers a unique experience to skiers, snowboarders and backcountry explorers. At Mount Cain you'll find untouched powder (we're only open on weekends), virtually no line-ups and the welcoming atmosphere of a family oriented mountain. Mt. Cain is located in Schoen Lake regional park and is run by the Mt. Cain Alpine Park Society. It is Vancouver Island's only community owned and operated ski-hill.
